GIYF-FFS is a small grass-roots NGO with relatively very little running costs that is producing big results for communities that need big results produced. A small amount of money to you is a huge amount in the eyes of the school community and can make a very large positive impact in their lives.

Mina Ballesteros is the Executive Director of GIYF-FFS has been working on development projects within the community for over 20 years.  She knows what the community needs and how to provide this but is constantly faced with obstacles that delay and sometimes prevent the schools goals from being achieved.

GIYF-FFS has come so far in its 10 years of existence but many challenges still remain.  Mina shares

that “Times are tough but I always tell the staff to stay positive.  We are in a

much better position today than in the past.  Today we only have to worry about month to month but in the past we had to worry about meal to meal.

We would finish breakfast and have to source money for lunch.

That was a real struggle but we pushed through.”

Mina also shares that “Come March we need a miracle.  Something always happens that enables us to generate enough funds to scrape by, and besides even with no money we still have a school.  We even had a school when we had no buildings.

It’s the community spirit that enables this school to survive.”

Without your support GIYF-FFS’s movement in serving the impoverished communities of Oriental Mindoro will greatly loose momentum.  So please make a pledge to help and create a more sustainable future for GIYF-FFS. You can never imagine how many kids and families you will make happy with just a single decision to give back or share.
